John-Boy Ginn
Resigns His Post At Mill Ridge Farm

Ms. Alice Chandler and the entire staff at Mill Ridge Farm are stunned by the sudden resignation of groom extraordinaire, John-Boy Ginn from the Mill Ridge Equine Sales Team.
Reportedly John-Boy Ginn has resigned his post at Mill Ridge Farm to take a position as head dish washer and part-time bartender at the Parting Glass II on Layne Allen Road and Harrodsburg Road.  Lexington, Kentucky's #1 watering hole.

Good Job

While the Kentucky Racing Commission has taken much criticism over their decision on Clembuterol, this publication for one thinks they made the right choice.
Lets face it, for the most part all Racing Commissions are a joke and Kentucky sure does have their share of clowns, but on the Clembuterol issue they (Kentucky) have made the proper call.
We read where Andy Beyer has proclaimed that Clembuterol will be the damnation of thoroughbred racing, just as he did when Bute and Lasix were introduced.
But one must remember this:  Just because Andy Beyer sits in the Press Box and pumps hundreds of thousands of dollars through the windows each year, does not make him an expert on the subject.
Andy Beyer's knowledge of the inner workings of a thoroughbred race horse are zero, none, null and void and all of the above.
Clembuterol gives a horse's lungs an opportunity to function the way they are meant to function and without airway obstructions that are the result of many things, including air pollution.
Bute is an anti-inflammatory, Lasix is a diuretic and Clembuterol is a bronchial dilator.
But to people ignorant on the issue, like Andy Beyer, its all hop.  That's just not the case.
Kentucky's new rule allowing the use of Clembuterol 3 to 5 days out, will put EVERYONE on the same playing field, which for horsemen and racing fans alike, will be the fairest way to administrate this policy.

Roger The Dodger Back In Kentucky

Roger "The Dodger" Sutton is back in hardboot land after a successful 10-year stint in New York.
Roger the Dodger has again teamed up with the crafty Cajun, Craig Perret, who won two races on Thursday's card, paying $44 and $30.40 to win.
Roger the Dodger has handled Craig Perret's book in the past and was his agent when Bet Twice won the Belmont and Haskell Stakes as a 3-year-old.
If you've got a live critter (and Roger will know if you don't) keep Craig Perret in mind as he is one of the best around in white pants.

Brooklyn's Bobby Frankel
Moving To Kentucky

Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel just never knew you could have this much fun in hardboot land.
He got his first taste two springs ago when he won the Kentucky Oaks in 1998.
This fall Frankel sent three horses to Keeneland and left with victories in the Grade Two Shadwell Mile, the $500,000 added Vinery First Lady, and the Grade One Spinster Stakes won by Keeper Hill.
Immediately after the race Bobby Frankel  was running through the Keeneland Clubhouse screaming "Go Big Blue."
After the celebrating was over, Frankel headed straight for the courthouse to apply for Fayette County tags for his automobile.
Frankel also applied for a Kentucky Fried Chicken credit card and bought a CD of Bill Monroe's greatest hits.
We have also learned that Bobby Frankel bought a dozen pair of Duck Head khakis and a leather belt with a brass plate with his initials on it.
Frankel plans to ship his entire racing stable to Keeneland despite the fact that the meet will be over in two weeks.
After the Spinster Bobby Frankel was ecstatic, not only that Keeper Hill had won, but that the Kentucky Wildcats had soundly beaten LSU.
As Bobby Frankel put it, "Us hardboots put a serious hurtin' on those mudbugs from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Alphabet Jones Turns
Down Keeneland's Presidency

According to our top informants Walmac International's J.T.L. "Alphabet" Jones was offered the job of  Keeneland Association President.
But after days of serious soul searching, Alphabet Jones has declined the offer.
Had Alphabet Jones accepted the Keeneland job, he would have been forced to resign his post as Kentucky Director of Texans for Warren Beatty for President, a political action group.
Alphabet Jones would have also been forced to lose his gig as advisor to the powerful Nelson Bunker Hunt Racing Stable.

Malone's
The Best Steaks in "606"

Brian McCarty and every one at Malone's are very proud of the fact that they have become the #1 place for steaks in Lexington and all of Central Kentucky.
The local racing community has really taken to Malone's because every time Injun Chuck goes in the joint we see nothin' but owners, breeders, trainers and one extra large Sallee Van executive named, Don "Moon" Gamble.
To get to Malone's just take New Circle Road to Tates Creek and you will be two furlongs from the Lansdowne Shops where Malone's is located.  With so many people in town for the Keeneland Races, parties of five or more should definitely call ahead for reservations (606) 396-7500.
